Adelphi shooting victim identified

Police have identified the man shot and killed in Adelphi Tuesday night as 40-year-old Joel Craig Brown, authorities said Wednesday.

Brown, of Silver Spring, was found suffering from gunshot wounds in the 1800 block of Metzerott Road, after Prince George’s County police officers were dispatched there about 6:40 p.m. for a reported shooting, authorities said. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives have not yet identified suspects or a motive in the case.
