Arlington bank robber strikes again

The Arlington bank robber has struck again, hitting a BB&T bank branch on Washington Boulevard this week for his sixth heist in three months, police say.

The man casually walks in and out of banks, announcing robberies and making off with cash, police said. Authorities believe he has committed six of the nine bank robberies in Arlington County this year.

There were just three robberies in the county in all of 2010.

The man he hit a BB&T Bank in the 3000 block of Washington Boulevard at about 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, demanding cash from a teller, police said.

He is described as white and about 50 years old with brown hair, and a thin build; he stands about five-foot-nine, authorities say. During the latest robbery he wore a gray t-shirt, khaki pants, brown belt, a light-colored hat and sunglasses, according to police.
