A 19-year-old from the District has been arrested in the slaying of 17-year-old Southeast resident Darond Lucas, who was shot and killed last June, according to D.C. Police.
Joshua Andrews, of Southeast D.C., was taken into custody shortly before 8 a.m. on Wednesday. There was an arrest warrant out for Andrews charging him with first degree murder while armed, according to D.C. police.
Lucas was found unconscious and suffering from gunshot wounds in the 1600 block of W Street SE on June 5. Paramedics were called, but found Lucas had no signs of life. Lucas lived in the 2300 block of Pitts Place in SE D.C.
