An attack on a woman in Springfield this morning may be the 13th linked to a serial groper, Fairfax County police said.

A 23-year-old woman was walking on Floyd Avenue near Erving Street when a man ran up behind her and fondled her, police said. The man then fled.

He was described as 5’6” tall and Hispanic. He wore faded green pants, a black knit cap and a green jacket, according to police, and he had a close-cut beard.

Police believe the same man is behind the string of attacks in and around the Springfield area.

The attacks began in September and have mostly targeted women in their teens and 20s.
