Capitol Heights man killed in D.C. stabbing

A 26-year-old Prince George’s County man has died after being stabbed on a District street early Tuesday, police said.

The victim was identified as Dwight Gaiter, who lived in Capitol Heights.

Police said Gaiter was stabbed in the 400 block of 56th Street NW shortly after midnight Tuesday. They said he died in a hospital about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The slaying is under investigation by homicide detectives.
