Capitol Police officer is struck by car

A U.S. Capitol Police officer was struck by a car and injured Thursday night near Union Station, officials said.
A Ford Mustang struck the officer as she was directing traffic during a traffic stop in the 100 block of Massachusetts Avenue NE about 9 p.m. said Officer Shennell Antrobus, a spokesman.
The officer was conscious and breathing at the scene and authorities took her to a hospital, he said. Her condition was not immediately known about 10 p.m.
The car's driver stayed at the scene and police were investigating the incident.
