Car crashes into popular Lanham seafood restaurant

A 91-year-old man was hurt Wednesday after he crashed his car into a popular Lanham seafood restaurant, authorities said.

The incident occurred shortly after 11 a.m. at Jerry’s Seafood in the 9300 block of Lanham Severn Road, said Cpl. Larry Johnson, a Prince George’s County police spokesman.

The man drove up over the curb and through the front of the building next to the main entrance, Johnson said. Investigators are still probing what caused him to do that.

The man was taken to a hospital, though his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, Johnson said. He said that while there were employees in the back of the restaurant during the incident, nobody else was hurt except the driver.
