Officials described the suspect as a black man with a light complexion, 18 to 28 years old, 5-foot-7 and weighing about 140 pounds. The neighborhoods hit include the area of Frederick Road and Scenery Drive that are bordered by Middlebrook Road.

After the jump is a rundown of the incidents, according to Montgomery police, starting with the thefts from vehicles:

Dec. 26, 11400 block of Locustdale Terrace. About 9 a.m., the suspect forced his way into a vehicle and stole a purse.

Dec. 31, 20000 block of Gateshead Circle. Sometime between 8:15 a.m. and 8:45 a.m., the suspect forced his way into a vehicle and stole a purse and electronic items.

Jan. 2, 20000 block of Appledowre Circle. About 8 p.m., the suspect opened an unlocked vehicle door and stole a purse.

Jan. 8, 19900 block of Appledowre Circle. About 7:55 a.m., the victim and her daughter were sitting inside a vehicle in front of the residence. The suspect opened the unlocked passenger-side door and stole a purse.

Jan. 9, 20100 block of Locustdale Drive. Between 5:40 a.m. and 6:20 a.m., electronics and cash were stolen from a vehicle.

Between Jan. 11 and 12, 100 block of Appledowre Court. The suspect forced his way into a vehicle and stole a purse.

Jan. 14, 11300 block of Halethorpe Terrace. About 8:32 p.m., a 50-year-old woman was opening her vehicle in a parking lot. The suspect reached into the driver’s side and took jewelry. He implied he had a weapon but the victim didn’t see it. The suspect fled on foot.

Jan. 22, 19900 block of Dunstable Circle. About 6:37 a.m., a 47-year-old woman was in her vehicle in a driveway. The suspect tried to open the driver’s side and front passenger doors. The suspect yelled at the victim and fled on foot after discovering that the doors were locked.

Jan. 28, 20000 block of Appledowre Circle. About 9:05 p.m., a 46-year-old woman was getting out of her vehicle in a parking lot when she was approached by a suspect. He demanded money and threatened to hurt her with a weapon, though no weapon was seen by the victim. When the victim said she had no money, the suspect punched her in the face. The suspect then took property and fled on foot. The victim suffered a small laceration to her face.
