Two vehicles collided in Leonardtown overnight, killing the driver of one car and injuring three passengers in the other, according to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office.

Shortly before 3 a.m., Victoria Elizabeth Monaco, 25, of Lusby, failed to stop for a flashing red signal at the intersection of Point Lookout Road and Medleys Neck Road, according to police. She crashed into a Honda Accord being driven by Craig Wesley Norton, 40, of Lexington Park, police said.

Monaco died on the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.

Three passengers in Norton’s car were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Norton was unhurt, police said.
