The man, a 40-year-old Korean national, was stopped Jan. 6, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Officials say he was carrying $179,000 worth of the chemical tadalafil, the key ingredient in the drugs.
Authorities said the man didn’t have approval to bring the chemical into the country.
