Customs officials found more than two pounds of cocaine inside jars of stew packed in a Guatemalan man’s luggage Sunday at Dulles Airport, authorities said.
The man told officials he was entering the country as a courier, according to a press release from U.S. Customs and Border Protection. After inspecting his packages, they said, they found two jars filled with stew that felt heavier than they should have.
The jars turned out to contain plastic bags that tested positive for cocaine, authorities said.
Officers at Dulles seized more than 50 pounds of cocaine between Oct. 1, 2011 and September 30, 2012, authorities said.
