D.C. jail inmate dies after apparent hanging

An inmate at the D.C. jail died Friday afternoon, apparently after hanging himself, according to the D.C. Department of Corrections.

Michael English was given emergency medical care at the jail and then taken by ambulance to Prince George’s Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead. The department of corrections’s investigation unit and the D.C. police will look into the death.
