D.C. man convicted in man’s 2010 shooting death

A 37-year-old District man was convicted of voluntary manslaughter Wednesday in a September, 2010 killing, authorities said.

A D.C. Superior Court jury also convicted Katrell Henry of three firearms offenses after a six-day trial, according to the U.S. Attorney’s office.

Authorities said Henry fired three or four shots from a .22 caliber revolver at Laroy Bryant, 31, after an argument in a parking lot. Bryant died a few hours later.

Henry was jealous of Bryant’s relationship with a woman he had a relationship with, according to the U.S. Attorney’s office.

Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 5. Henry faces up to 55 years in prison.
