D.C. man gets more than 5 years in sex abuse

A man who admitted to sexually abusing an intoxicated 13-year-old girl was sentenced to more than five years in prison, authorities said.

Pedro Funes, 21, was sentenced Tuesday, according to the U.S. attorney’s office. Funes, of the District, admitted that he and another man had sex with the girl while she was in and out of consciousness in February 2009, according to authorities.

Funes pleaded guilty to a felony attempted first-degree child sexual abuse in July, authorities said. He will be placed on five years of supervised release after completing his 63-month prison term.
