D.C. police arrest Southeast man in 2009 homicide

D.C. police arrested a 24-year-old man Wednesday on charges that he fatally shot a man in a Northeast Washington alley in 2009.

Homicide detectives arrested and charged James Barber, of Southeast Washington, with second-degree murder in the shooting of John Arthur Reaves III, officials said. On Feb. 27, 2009, police found Reaves, 30, suffering from gunshot wounds in the 800 block of Delafield Place NE about 5 p.m.

Police did not release information about a motive or what led them to arrest Barber.
