Fatal shooting in NE D.C.

April 11, 2012

A male who was shot Wednesday night in the Kingman Park area of Northeast D.C. has died, D.C. police said.

Police said the man apparently was shot in the upper body inside an apartment building just after 8 p.m. Investigators were interviewing another man who was taken into custody, but no charges were announced.

Police who were called to the scene in the 600 block of 24th Street NE found an unconscious male victim, said Officer Hugh Carew, a spokesman.

It was unclear what prompted the shooting.
