Update, 2:40 p.m.: One victim was shot in the leg, the other in the chest. Both were conscious and expected to survive. The homicide unit was not called to the scene.
Original post: D.C. police are investigating a double shooting in the Washington Highlands neighborhood Tuesday afternoon.
It happened at 1:35 p.m at 4th and Atlantic streets Southeast.
Police did not release the ages or conditions of the victims. They said more information would be available shortly.
