D.C. police investigate two overnight homicides

Two men were killed in separate incidents — one stabbing and one shooting — Sunday night and early Monday, D.C. police reported.

The first slaying took place around 8:20 p.m. Sunday, in the 1900 block of I Street NE. Police said a man was stabbed to death, and quoted a witness as saying that he was stabbed by a black woman. Police are looking for a suspect, but do not have anyone in custody.

Police identified the victim as Jawan Parker, 31 of Northeast Washington.

The second homicide occurred around 1:30 a.m. Monday in the 1100 block of Stevens Road SE. Police said a man was fatally shot. They have no suspects or motives in the case.

The victim in the fatal shooting on Stevens Road was Antonio Headspeth, 25, of Southeast Washington, police said.

Police are searching for suspects in both incidents and asked the public to call 202-727-9099 or send an anonymous text message to 50411.
