D.C. police search for robbery suspect

D.C. Police are asking for help identifying a man they say robbed and assaulted another man two weeks ago on Georgia Avenue, two blocks from the Petworth Metro stop in Northwest Washington.

Authorities said the attack occurred about 1:40 a.m. on Aug. 16. They said the victim was walking in the 3800 block of Georgia Ave. when he was assaulted and robbed. Police provided no details on whether the man was hurt or what was taken.

Police released a surveillance photo showing the man, though it is unclear where it was taken. The man police are seeking is between the ages of 18 and 25, is 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall, has brown eyes and black hair, police said.

Police said he was wearing a black cap with a red insignia, a white shirt and blue jeans. In the surveillance picture, it appears he has ear phones around his neck. Anyone with information is urged to call D.C. Police at 202-727-9099 or text the tip line at 50411.
