D.C. shooting victim from 2011 dies from injuries

A 22-year-old man who was shot in April 2011 in Southeast Washington died from his wounds Wednesday in a Prince George’s County nursing home, D.C. police officials said.

 The death of Jonathan Alonzo Woods, of Southeast, was ruled a homicide after an autopsy conducted by the Maryland medical examiner’s office on Thursday, officials said.

 D.C. police found Woods suffering from gunshot wounds after officers were called to the 400 block of Burbank Street SE on April 4, 2011 about 10:30 p.m., authorities said. Woods was taken to a hospital with critical wounds.

Police released no details about the circumstances of the shooting late Thursday.
