District Heights club closed after shooting

Prince George’s County police have shut down a District Heights strip club that they say was operating without a required permit and posed an “imminent danger” to public safety, authorities said Monday.

Police said the Star Dust Lounge, in the 5400 block of Marlboro Pike, was shuttered Friday and will remain closed until an appeals hearing. The “adult entertainment club” had been operating without a required use and occupancy permit, and it was also the site of a shooting about 3 a.m. Wednesday, authorities said.

In that case, police said, a man was shot and critically wounded in the club’s parking lot during an apparent robbery. Police said detectives had arrested and charged 30-year-old Marcus A. McCray with attempted first-degree murder and related counts, and the victim is still hospitalized in critical condition.
