District police arrest suspect in fatal stabbing in SE

District police arrested a suspect in Wednesday’s fatal stabbing of a 29-year-old woman who was found wounded in the hallway of her apartment complex in Southeast Washington, the department said on Thursday.

D.C. Officer Anthony Clay, a police spokesman, said the killing was the result of a domestic dispute.

Authorities identified the victim as Antoinette Mitchell, 29. Police said they were called about 4:10 a.m. to the 3200 block of 13th St., SE, in the Congress Heights neighborhood. Mitchell was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Police said in a statement that they charged Earl Johnson, 40, of Northeast, with second-degree murder while armed. rested by members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force.
