Driver of car reported stolen dies in Md. crash

The driver of a car that had been reported stolen died in a Wednesday night crash in Frederick County, police said.

Police arrived to the scene of an accident on Interstate 270 northbound near Park Mills Road around 9 p.m., finding a red Toyota Corolla witnesses said side-swiped another vehicle before running off the road, hitting several trees and bursting into flames.

The driver of the Toyota died at the scene, police said. Authorities have not yet released the driver’s name.

The car had been reported stolen earlier Wednesday in Virginia, according to the Maryland State Police.
