Drug charges for 2 men after Md. traffic stop

FREDERICK, Md. — Two men have been charged with drug offenses after heroin, cocaine and pills were found in their car during a traffic stop.

Thirty-seven-year-old Dwayne Smith of no fixed address is charged with drug possession and possession with intent to distribute. He is being held on $225,000 bail.

Fifty-year-old David Curtis of Weston, W. Va., has been charged with possession of heroin, crack cocaine and paraphernalia, is being held on $5,000 bail.

Maryland State Police say on Monday about 10:45 a.m., a trooper stopped a car Curtis was driving for speeding. Smith was a passenger in the vehicle.

Troopers say a search of the car and Smith turned up 75 capsules of heroin, 10 bags of crack cocaine, 21 vials of powder cocaine and 18 Suboxone pills.
