Early morning wreck in Haymarket claims life

A 50-year-old Culpeper man was killed in an early morning wreck in Haymarket after crashing into a logging truck, according to police.

Don A. Fincham, 50, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado northbound on James Madison Highway when he failed to stop for a log truck that had just begun to accelarate after a red light had changed, according to police. The crash occurred at James Madison and Stepping Stone Drive in Haymarket.

Fincham was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Speed, alcohol and drugs were not factors in the fatality, police said.
