Fairfax crash leaves 1 dead, 1 injured

A Fairfax man was killed and his brother was injured early Monday when their Ford SUV hit a tree and flipped over in the city of Fairfax around 1:30 a.m., police said.

The single-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Pickett Road and Colonial Avenue, police said. The driver, Marvin Jimenez Centellas, 24, of the 3700-block of Persimmon Drive, was thrown from the SUV and died at the scene, police said. His 20-year-old brother, a passenger, was treated at a local hospital and released.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
