Former Va. deputy indicted in ex-wife’s killing

ROANOKE, Va. — A grand jury in Roanoke has indicted a former Franklin County sheriff’s deputy on a charge of murder in his ex-wife’s slaying.

The Roanoke Times reports jurors handed up the indictment Monday against Jonathan Ashley Agee.

The 32-year-old defendant is accused of shooting Jennifer Louise Agee on May 30 in a convenience store parking lot.

During a police chase, Agee is accused of shooting a state police officer. He’s been indicted on five charges in connection with that shooting, including attempted capital murder of a law enforcement officer.

Agee remains jailed without bond.
