(This posting has been updated)

The second victim of a hit-and-run in Oxon Hill died Saturday of her injuries.

Prince George’s County police identified her as Mildred Freeman, 62, of Fort Washington. Prince George’s County police department spokesman Cpl. Henry Tippett said she was the wife of Michael Thomas, 55, of Fort Washington, who died overnight Friday.

The two were hit at about 7 a.m. Friday in the 6300 block of Oxon Hill Road. They were attempting to cross the street where there was no cross walk and were standing in the center turn lane when they were struck, according to police.

Tippett said witnesses reported seeing a gray compact car striking the individuals. The investigation and search for the driver continued Saturday.
