Girl grabbed by Alexandria intruder

A 16-year-old girl was thrown to the ground Monday night by an intruder in a house in Alexandria, the police said.

They said the incident occurred about 8 p.m. in t he 1100 block of Archer Court, near the western edge of the city.

The girl heard a noise at the door and went to investigate. Police said she was confronted by a man who grabbed her and pushed her to t he floor.

He fled when her cell phone rang. Police said they are looking for him.
