One person was arrested Sunday and accused of marking the side a DC office building  with chalk Sunday while more than 100 members of the Occupy DC movement were taking part in an “April Fools Day”  march in the street around McPherson Square

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that one person was arrested and charged with “destruction of property,” but organizers of the march said the person writing graffiti on the wall of building in the 1500 block of K Street was not part of their protest, which was peaceful.

“The person wrote graffiti on the side of the wall, there was no harsh treatment by the police, they just put him in the back of the van,” said Brad Wheeler, a participant in the Occupy Wall Street Movement who came down to District to be part of the rally. “We were visiting various lobbying organizations, Monsanto, Wells Fargo, Bank of America that are starting to take control of our government.”
