Guilty plea for Md. man in 6-year-old’s rape

A 24-year-old who pleaded guilty last week to federal child pornography charges has pleaded guilty to raping a 6-year-old girl.

Jeffrey Trantham of Ellicott City entered the plea to second-degree rape on Monday in Howard County Circuit Court.

The incidents that led to the rape charge took place in August and September.

Trantham is expected to be sentenced next month on the child pornography charges. Prosecutors say more than 600 images and several videos depicting child pornography were found on Trantham’s computer.
