Help sought in deadly La Plata hit-and-run in March

Maryland investigators are looking for help finding a suspect in a deadly March hit-and-run crash in La Plata.

The March 24 crash, which authorities said took place around 8 p.m., killed Darrell G. Sallie, 57, of La Plata. Sallie was walking on the shoulder of Route 6 near Perry Road when he was hit by a westbound truck or SUV, according to the Maryland State Police.

Police believe he might have been hit by a late 1990s Ford truck or Expedition. They do not know the color.

They ask anyone with information about the incident to call 301-392-1201; people wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477), text a tip and the word “Charles” to 274637 (CRIMES) or submit a tip online.
