Howard County student in stable condition after being struck by car

A River Hill High School student was hurt Tuesday morning after he was hit by a car while crossing a street in Clarksville, according to police.

Howard County police said the 17-year-old, a Clarksville native, was taken to a hospital in serious condition after he was hit about 7:30 a.m. Shortly before noon, he was said to be in stable condition.

He was crossing Linden Linthicum Lane near Little Bells Row when he was hit by a car traveling west, police said.

Police said the driver, a 35-year-old Clarksville man, stayed at the scene. The investigation continues, police said.
