Human head, body remains found in woods behind Pasadena bargain market

Police on Monday found a head, and other human remains some distance away, behind an Ollie’s Bargain Outlet in Pasadena, Anne Arundel County Police said.

At around 2:47 p.m., police arrived near the woods around the 8100 block of Ritchie Highway in Pasadena where a man said he discovered a human skull, police said. They said police then searched the woods, and found additional remains, though no further details on the remains were immediately given.

“This type of thing is kind of rare,” said Justin Mulcahy, Anne Arundel County police spokesman.

Baltimore’s Chief Medical Examiner will determine an identification and cause of death, police said.

While initial reports indicated that the remains may have been from a woman, Mucahy said at this point police are treating it as an unidentified person pending the medical examiner’s findings.

Police have not identified the remains.
