A Hyattsville man was charged with assault Monday after he shot a co-worker with a nail gun, authorities said.
Police responded to a report of an industrial accident at the site of a home framing in the 4200 block of Sweet Leaf Lane in Edgewater just before 11:30 a.m. They found a 34-year-old Laurel man suffering from injuries related to a nail gun shot, according to authorities.
The man was taken to a hospital with possible life-threatening injuries. Investigators later determined that the victim was hurt after a dispute with a co-worker, who shot him with the nail gun.
Guillermo L. Lopez-Molina, 41, was charged with first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment, police said.
