Identity sought of man found dead in Reston

Fairfax County police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a body found on a Reston path Monday. Foul play is not suspected.

A man found the body in the mulch next to a swing set on French Horn Lane about 11:20 a.m., police said. The deceased appeared to be going to or coming from a main path and appeared to have been exercising, police said.

The man did not have identification and no missing person reports have been filed, police said.

The man is described as having an average build, around 5’10” tall. He also had dark, graying hair and was possibly in his 50s. He wore a black knit cap, black sweat pants, a long-sleeved black shirt underneath a gray T-shirt, black socks and black New Balance tennis shoes.

He wore no ring, jewelry or watch, but had a house key. He had a six-inch surgical scar on his lower right hip.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Solvers by phone at 1-866-411-TIPS/8477.
