BALTIMORE — Authorities are investigating the death of a 1-year-old boy who was found in the basement of a home in southwest Baltimore.
Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says officers were called to the 2700 block of Riggs Ave. on Wednesday morning for a report of an abduction of a 1-year-old.
At some point, police say, officers found the boy in the basement, suffering from trauma to his body. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Guglielmi tells The Baltimore Sun that the child’s parents were in custody and being questioned.
Guglielmi says an autopsy was being conducted to confirm the boy’s cause of death.
