James West, volunteer, charged with abusing teens in King’s Chapel Church youth group

A volunteer with King’s Chapel Church in Clifton has been charged with sexually abusing teens who were part of its youth group, Fairfax County police said.

James West, 23, of Fairfax, was charged Friday after the parents of a 14-year-old contacted authorities in early August and alleged the suspect had given the teen and other young people a massage, police said.

West, of the 5600 block of Hope Park Road, has been charged with two counts of aggravated sexual battery, police said. He had volunteered at the church for several years.

Police are asking that anyone with information about the case contact Detective L. Barca at 703-246-7810 or call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS/8477.
