Man, 24, stabbed to death in Baltimore club

Baltimore police have identified a man who was stabbed to death inside a downtown nightclub.

The victim was 24-year-old Charles Johnson. Three other men were stabbed early Saturday inside the Bourbon Street Live nightclub. They are expected to survive, and police have not released their names.

David Adams, one of the club’s managers, says the violence erupted in a ballroom where a ladies’ night promotion was going on. He says the club will no longer hold ladies’ night events.

City Councilman William Cole says he’s frustrated by outbreaks of violence at downtown clubs, which he attributes to “stupid fighting between individuals.” He says he’s not sure what the police department can do to prevent it.
