Prince George’s County police homicide detectives have charged a Capitol Heights man with the fatal shooting of another Capitol Heights man last month, authorities said.
Deangelo Walker, who police said was 25 but courts records list as being 30, was already incarcerated on an unrelated assault charge when officers served him with a warrant Tuesday in the homicide case, according to authorities and court records. Walker is charged with first-degree murder in the Sept. 19 shooting of 47-year-old William Albert Nelson outside of 23 Sultan Avenue in Capitol Heights, authorities said.
Cpl. Henry Tippett, a Prince George’s County police spokesman, said he did not know what the motive for the slaying was or what evidence police had to charge Walker in the murder. Walker remains jailed without bond, authorities said.
