Man charged with burglary of two Loudoun churches

A man accused of burglarizing a Leesburg church has been charged in connection with a similar burglary at Arcola Methodist Church in Arcola, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

Brent Andrew Morgan, 30, of no fixed address, is accused of stealing electronics — including a laptop and two televisions — from the church on Evergreen Mills Road on June 13, according to authorities.

Morgan was charged on July 1 with a burglary at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Leesburg over the weekend of June 25-26, authorities said.

He was also charged by Leesburg Police with grand larceny in connection to a theft at a residence where he was staying in Leesburg, according to police.

Kraig Troxell, spokesman for the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, said Leesburg Police received a tip that led to Morgan’s arrest and connected him to the Arcola burglary.

Troxell said Morgan arrived in the Loudoun County area recently, but did not provide additional information about Morgan’s background.

Morgan is currently being held in the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on unrelated charges, authorities said.
