Man charged with fatally shooting acquaintance in Landover

A 21-year-old man is under arrest in connection with the fatal shooting of a Landover man last week, Prince George’s County police said.

Thomas Everett Chester III, 21, turned himself in on Monday after homicide detectives obtained a warrant for his arrest.

Chester allegedly shot and killed 43-year-old Brian Keith Tann just before 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, in the 7700 block of Bender Road.

Police said that Chester and Tann were acquaintances and that the motive for the shooting was a dispute between the two men. The details of the dispute remain unclear, police said.

Chester has been charged with first-degree murder and is being held without bond.
