Man dies after tree branch falls on him in Mount Pleasant

A man was killed in Mount Pleasant early Wednesday morning when a tree branch apparently gave way and fell on him, D.C. police said.

Benjamin Mufti, 35, of the District, suffered fatal injuries when the branch struck him around 6:20 a.m. in the 3200 block of Adams Mill Road NW.

Mufti worked as a personal trainer at Tenley Sport and Health Club. He was reportedly on his way to work when he was struck.
