A man was fatally shot Thursday night in Sterling, the Loudoun Sheriff’s office said.
Deputies were called to check on the welfare of a person in the area of Great Trail Terrace and Trail Run Terrace at about 7 p.m., said Liz Mills, a sheriff’s office spokeswoman.
Police found the man, who has not been positively identified, dead at the scene.
Officials ask that anyone who saw suspicious activity in that area to call 703-777-0475.
