A man was fatally shot early Saturday in Northeast Washington, D.C. police said.
Officers found a man near the intersection of Anacostia Avenue and Ponds Street just before 4 a.m., said Officer Paul Metcalf, a spokesman. The victim was not identified and police released no details about the circumstances of the shooting.
The homicide was at least the city’s seventh in a week, after a string of killings that began last Saturday.
