Man found dead in Pr. George’s

A man found dead in a Bladensburg apartment Wednesday morning had burn injuries, authorities said.

The incident occurred about 10:45 am in the Phoenix Apartments in the 5800 block of Annapolis Road, authorities said. Firefighters called to investigate a possible fire went to the sixth floor of a high-rise building and encountered smoke, authorities said.

They entered an apartment and found a man, suffering from burns, dead inside, authorities said.

Mark Brady, a Prince George's County Fire-EMS Department spokesman, said most of the burns were on the man’s body — not elsewhere in the apartment — and fire investigators were working with police detectives to determine what happened. The man's name was not immediately released.
