Man injured during party dies; case probed as homicide

A man injured during a fight at a weekend party in Fort Washington has died, and detectives are probing his death as a homicide, authorities said.

Elijah Muhammad Turner, 21, of Southeast D.C., was pronounced dead Monday, two days after he was apparently injured during a fight at a party in the 13000 block of Pendleton Street, authorities said. He had suffered severe head trauma during the fight, and an acquaintance drove him to the hospital, authorities said.

Police said they are still searching for suspects in the case. When officers arrived at the party about 2:20 a.m. Saturday, the crowd had mostly dispersed, authorities said. Anyone with information is asked to call the Prince George’s County police’s homicide unit at (301) 772-4925.
