Man killed in Southeast D.C.

A man who was shot in Southeast Washington Monday night has died, police said.

He was attacked at about 8:45 p.m. near Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue and Lebaum Street, authorities said. Police identified him as Mohamed Abdul-Selam Muktar, 37, of Northeast.

Officials also identified the man shot and killed Monday night in the 1600 block of Lincoln Road NE in the Eckington area as 22-year-old Eric Kearney of Northeast.

Five people have been killed in the District since Saturday.
