Man shot and killed in District Heights

A Southeast D.C. man was shot and killed early Sunday morning in District Heights, authorities said.

The incident occurred about 12:40 a.m. in the 1900 block of Rochelle Avenue, authorities said. Police said Dwight Donnell Hicks, 26, was found suffering from a gunshot wound on the scene and transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

Police are still searching for suspects and a motive in the case.
