A man was shot and seriously wounded in Prince George’s County Friday night near where a vigil was being held for a cancer victim, police said.
The shooting occurred about 9:40 p.m. in the 4700 block of 68th Avenue said Cpl. Larry Johnson, a police spokesman.
He said police went there after a shooting was reported and found the man who had been shot several times. He was taken to a hospital in critical but stable condition, Johnson said.
The man had apparently been getting out of a car when the assailant approached and opened fire.
No information about a motive was available and no description was given of a suspect.
